KDSG NG-CARES STEERING COMMITTEE MEETING
Sequel to the Nigeria Covid-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (N-CARES) Programme launch by the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Commissioner, Planning and Budget Commission, Muhammad Sani Dattijo, is chairing the Kaduna State Steering Committe Meeting at the Conference Hall of the Planning and Budget Commission. The N-CARES Programme is a state-level intervention initiated by The World Bank that seeks to mitigate the local effects of the COVID-19 worldwide pandemic at the state-level, by protecting the livelihoods of existing and newly poor and vulnerable households, and supporting the recovery of local economic activity especially among MSMEs.

Kaduna can pay workers’ salary without federal allocation – Budget Commissioner
The Commissioner for Budget and Planning in Kaduna State, Alhaji Muhammad Sani Abdullahi has said that N184.53 B has been allocated to capital expenditure and N94.05 B to recurrent, on a ratio of 66:37,in the state budget for 2022
The Commissioner who spoke at a round table with some journalists in Kaduna, explained that the N89.67B for the Social Subsector , has 49% of the capital budget which is the largest sectoral allocation. “Capital allocations in the social sub-sector are Education (N41.66B), Health (N28.63B) and Social Development (N19.37B). Capital budget allocation for public works and infrastructure is N28.94B and N8.79B for housing and urban development,” he said.

Kaduna gets highest, Katsina, Benue lowest as FG shares ₦43bn among 24 states
Kaduna State achieved the highest number of results (nine) and got the highest share with N3. 960 billion, while Katsina and Benue got the lowest amount of N540 million each as Federal Government disbursed the sum of N43,416,000,000.00 ($120.6 million) to 24 states. The fund is through a performance-based grant under the World Bank-Assisted States Fiscal Transparency, Accountability and Sustainability (SFTAS) Programme-for-Results. SFTAS is wholly-financed with a loan of $750 million from the International Development Association (IDA), a member of the World Bank Group.

KDSG announces mandatory use of Residents Card, NIN
Kaduna State Government has called on the general public to note that its Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) will not offer services to any person who does not have the Kaduna Residents Card or the National Identification Number(NIN) as from May 1, 2021.
The Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Residents Registration Agency (KADSRRA), Dr Zayyad Tsiga, made this known in a press conference on Thursday. According to Dr Tsiga, ‘’Kaduna state has the second highest number of enrolments into the National Identity Database (NIDB) with 3,130,857 enrolments against the projected population of 9,476,055 million people giving us a coverage of about 33% as at 15th February 2021.’’

KDSG Implemented 2019 SDGs-CGS Projects
The 2019 CGS intervention is geared towards achieving SDGs 3 and 4. These Goals centers around “Good health & wellbeing” and “Quality Education” respectively. This is necessary because Goals 3 and 4 feed directly to other Goals of the SDGs. Health has a central position in the global agenda and is closely linked to over a dozen targets in other goals related to urban health, equal access to treatments, and non-communicable diseases, among others. In fact, the SDGs represent a unique opportunity to promote public health through an integrated approach to public policies across different sectors.
